hi Syd - I will be off the grid tomorrow afternoon, so I will get my questions in early for each category, and you’ll have plenty of time to think of appropriate answers :
Who at Vin65 has the weirdest coffee order?
Does @Brent make you pick up his dry cleaning or shop for his wife’s birthday?
How many different kinds of assembly language do you know?
Why did my 2008 MacBook Pro die?
Giving up Bacon is tough, isn’t it?
What is your favorite tofu recipe?
What kind of potatoes?
Actually, potatoes in a bucket is totally cool. To what do you attribute your success?
How did you get into the IT industry?
What are your core interests in IT?
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Console or PC gaming?
Mac or Windows?
Chrome or Firefox?
Do you put your sauce in the fridge or the cupboard?
Savoury or sweets?
Who at Vin65 has the weirdest coffee order?
I don’t know, but I found cake flavoured tea in the cupboard the other day, and that stuff is amazing. Does @Brent make you pick up his dry cleaning or shop for his wife’s birthday?
You wouldn’t believe how fancy his underwear is. How many different kinds of assembly language do you know?
All of them! Why did my 2008 MacBook Pro die?
Please replace your Apple products every two years to avoid any issues related to planned obsolescence. Giving up Bacon is tough, isn’t it?
Bacon isn’t the issue. Cheese is my one true love. What is your favorite tofu recipe?
Typically I buy tofu and then forget about it in my fridge. What kind of potatoes?
Just a boring yellow one. Actually, potatoes in a bucket is totally cool. To what do you attribute your success?
I sing to them on a regular basis.
If you were a 1/2 man, 1/2 fish, would you rather be top 1/2 fish and be able to breath under water but be a terrible swimmer, or top 1/2 man and be able to swim better than anyone (I’m talking more gold medals than Michael Phelps), but be rejected by humans and fish because of your looks?
Why did you want to intern with Vin65?
What was the worst ‘intern’ thing you’ve had to do so far at Vin65?
If you could change one thing (besides the desk arrangement) at Vin65, what would you change?
Who at Vin65 asks you the most IT-related questions, and who asks you the most random, out of the blue, nothing-to-do-with-IT questions? And what’s the weirdest intern question/task you’ve ever been asked to do?
**How did you get into the IT industry? **
Figured it would be better than working outside in the cold and the rain. So far, it is.
**Where do you see yourself in 10 years? **
In 10 years I’ll be retired living in Japan, or maybe Kansas. I haven’t decided where, yet. Console or PC gaming?
PC master race. Mac or Windows?
Windows, although the windows 10 update shenanigans that Microsoft has been pulling lately just isn’t cool. They tricked my Mom into updating and I will never forgive them for that. Chrome or Firefox?
Chrome. I don’t like foxes. Do you put your sauce in the fridge or the cupboard?
Fridge, where is belongs. Savoury or sweets?
Sweets for sure, but I’m counting calories, this leads to quite an internal conflict.
Who would you rather be stranded on a tropical island for a year with?
Who would you want to cook you dinner?
Who would you want with you walking through a dark alley in a bad neighborhood?
Who would look cooler in skinny jeans?
From what I’ve seen, Vin65’s cable-management is atrocious. What steps are you taking to correct this?
We’re all going to start working in the dark so the cables won’t be visible. Problem solved. Why don’t you have either a beard or Macklemore-style haircut yet?
I’m still examining possible routes of action on this front. Anything think I could away with dying my hair blue? What’s your home network setup like?
I have a couple PCs on ethernet,
Tablet, laptop, phone on wifi,
I use a raspberry pi and an external hard drive as a torrent box and an SSH tunnel so I can connect to my network remotely. Most common computer problem seem from Vin65 staffers?
Here’s what I wish it was: “Can you help me open this bottle of wine?”
