We are looking into a new POS hardware setup. Do you have any suggestions?
We really need to get a hardwired ethernet connection, so we can avoid connections issues. Currently, our Ipads lose connection with the receipt printers every few hours, requiring going through the device settings in best case scenario or rebooting the printer in worst case scenario.
We also would like to have a customer facing screen, showing the order, but perhaps also showing a promo or other messages. Not sure if Vin65 actually allows for a customer display.
Ofcourse, we would look to integrate the EMV terminal.
Looking at Dell OptiPlex 5050 Micro with Windows 7 and a ELO 1502L 15.6" Touchscreen Monitor or perhaps an all-in-one with a touch screen like (Dell Optiplex 5250 AIO).
This shouldn’t be happening. We have three receipt printers and nine iPads going at once, and this never happens. Is your wireless solid and reliable? You might have better luck investing in your wireless infrastructure. Definitely look into Meraki or Ubiquiti business grade equipment if you haven’t already.
I don’t believe Vin65 has any way of doing anything like this.
Any computer that can display a browser can be used as a POS with Vin65. Either of those look good to me, I would err on the side of an all-in-one for space saving reasons. I would definitely stick with business-grade systems with a great support contract, like Dell. Be sure to also check the hardware compatibility page for accessories.
