Past calendar events don’t go away, they just fall off the calendar.
Even if you set them as not Active they still are displayed on the web (surprise!). And people who are looking for your “annual event” manage to find the old ones and get confused.
I really don’t want to delete them, but the only other thing I can think of is to go back and literally edit each one with a note and a link to the current year. Yuck. Ideas?
I suppose I could add “THIS IS A PAST EVENT. Please visit our calendar page to view upcoming events.” to every single past event, but there are 90 of them.
I agree and have 781 events, probably 731 of them from the past. While one solution/feature enhancement would be to add in a “deactivate on ____” field, I’d love to have a setting like “Deactivate past events X days after event date” in website settings.
PS - Bonus points if it deactivates and self-creates a marketing URL redirect to the events calendar. Or “Redirect to events calendar x days after event date.” or “Redirect to _____ x days after the events date” where you enter the marketing URL.
I have (nearly) all of my past events manually set with Active unchecked. Most other places here that removes them from display on the website. Maybe we could be consistent? @Brent@Karson?
