Charge reroute shipping fees

This is a Club/Store question.

Situation: shipping order placed, product goes out, all delivery attempts failed, back to the winery. Customer calls requesting to send to a new address and will pay for the re-ship fees.

How do you capture the new shipping fees? If I go back into the order using “pickup to ship X” it says it can’t charge shipping because it’s not a pickup order?

I know it must be something simple, I just can’t get my head around a workaround… anyone have thoughts?

I have flat rate shipping so I just use a special SKU when I need to charge for shipping.

Similar to Jeff, we created a SKU called “shipping unit” (and an order type to not interfere with other sales metrics) and use that any time we need to do a reroute fee or ship something with no bottles attached (such as wines not picked up).
