Delayed shipping date/wish list cosolidation

We use the allocation list functions and it generally works very well. However, we receive several customer requests with each allocation release to consolidate their original order with approved wish list orders (provided they are granted).

We tried to delay shipment using the ship date field in the allocation set up- this would have allowed us two weeks to make order changes, address corrections and consolidate deliveries. Turns out, this field doesn’t really have any function and our fulfillment house shipped all of the orders immediately.

Is there a solution, or will there be a solution to this problem? Our customers are quick to remind us the other wineries are able to manage this issue. Thanks!
