It will run off of the same gift card engine that exists today… so yes, the same codes.
Oh cool, so they are reloadable?
We aren’t recommending them to be (there is not automated way to reload it based on an order). You’d have to add more value in the admin panel. Out of the gate, they are only meant to be used until they are empty.
I understand. I have found reloading cards to be a useful tool for dealing with certain situations, which I happily do now via the admin panel anyway. Thanks!
FYI - Thanks for the feature request… this is launched! Find out more info here: https://www.vin65.com/Gift-Cards
Question: From yesterday’s feature request posting:
“If you’re a USAePayment or iPayment customer this program is free (apart from the cost of ordering the cards) and for all other customers there is a monthly $30 charge, a $0.25 per swipe transaction fee – but since we love you, the first 100 wineries that sign up get their transaction fees waived for 3 months.”
(Early adopters that went with Worldpay before USAePay was available have to be feeling really good about now, but I digress…)
Since this new physical system is built on top of the old email-based system and 16-character codes, does this mean ALL gift cards (including emailed codes) are now subject to the $30/month and $0.25 per “swipe”, or how does this get sorted out?
Here’s a glymps of a first draft gift card a winery created with the gift card vendor. Texas wineries are on it!
@ElJefe - The seller (Change Merchange Solution) for USAePay and iPayments offered to cover their client’s physical gift card program fees. If WorldPay would cover their client’s fees, Worldpay clients could also get it for free. We’ll reach out on our end to see if they are open to it (and I’m sure it would help if they heard from clients as well).
Merchant Processors and Payment Gateways have the most amazing business names.
Haha - Totally.
Really is free for USAePay? That would be a game changer… Everyone here was so irritated there was yet another fee to pay they said forget it.
There is no monthly fee for gift card if you’re using USAePay & iPayments. There is a printing fee to order them (100 cards for $299, or 500 cards for $499).
