I’m having difficulty trying to figure out how to set up a shipping promo where the customer makes a purchase, uses a promo code and Ground Shipping is automatically upgraded to 2nd Day Air for example. Thank you!
Interesting question. Right now, promotions can only give a discount, so it can’t bump a shipping type from one to another.
For example, a promo code could give someone dollars off their shipping rate so that 2nd Day Air would be discounted to the same/similar price of ground shipping (depending how your shipping is set up).
This is one of those things where it really depends on how you are preparing your shipments. WD fulfillment integration with Vin65 has this very promo all wired for any order that would take 3 or more days to be converted to 2-day air (just a happy WD customer here).
If you are putting your own labels on your own boxes then it is a simple matter of printing the right label, and that’s between you and the UPS and/or FedEx software.
Anything in between you need to solve with your fulfillment partner. Maybe this is just something you do automatically for club members without a code, just as one example.
