Yikes! I was going through the process of setting up an API connection and integration for a customer and discovered that webservices are no longer available to WineDirect Lite accounts? Anyone know when this changed over? What happened to having an open API?
First I’ve heard of it!
A quick check of the wayback machine shows nothing about APIs at the time of the last crawl on the vin65 site (https://web.archive.org/web/20170409082507/https://www.vin65.com/Pricing)
Would be interested in an official response to this, since we have a lite account for a secondary brand.
Hi @JamesDavenport and @rmcguire - APIs are indeed disabled for website on the Vin65 Lite plan. This wasn’t a recent change as far as I know. It should be outlined here: https://www.winedirect.com/get-started/pricing
The comparisons table has API Access unchecked for the Vin65 Lite column.
Hope this helps clarify things!
Yes, I see that API’s are disabled for current Vin65 lite accounts on the marketing site. I’m wondering when this changed over. It looks like there’s been some other pricing and account options that have changed, so I’ll connect with marketing about when this all switched.
Also, if API’s are now disabled for Lite, you’ll want to update the marketing website and doc site. You’re lead to believe that there’s an ‘open’ API for all WD accounts, but it’s only open to the $549 plus account users.
I’ll check with our team and confirm the exact date of this change. And I’ll go through the Webservice documentation and add a call-out message to clarify this restrictions.
Thanks for your patience!
