Day one, this needs to happen. Or else…
I’m no so sure the Vin65 platform will be able to jump through that hoop so quickly. We have discovered that there is no such thing as an interface change on the POS system as it is - namely the tip-line presentation for the customer.
Hate to say it, we will most likely run parallel systems for a “restaurant” POS system that will give us the tip-line and the apple-pay in one convenient package.
We have experienced customers that asked about apple-pay when me (the old codger) thought it was merely a fad.
Sorry for the confusion. This isn’t about ApplePay for onsite payments using NFC. This enables ApplePay users to authorize transactions on HTML websites using Touch ID on their iPhones, Macs and iPads. The idea being it will make purchasing from devices like iPhones significantly easier.
If I had to choose between enabling yet another way to pay on the website, or Vin65 actually implementing some actual real useful Feature Requests from their users, I would choose the latter all day long.
See, I think this one might be significant. For all of our properties, mobile devices dominate our email opens and website traffic but desktop still dominates email and website purchases. I hope making it easier to login and submit payment information on a mobile device, for the average user, could have a significant impact on our ability to Sell More Wine™.
I understand. Does the Apple Pay feature populate everything - addresses etc.?
Yeah, I believe so. I think it depends on the implementation.
That seems significant. But I guess I’m the skeptic on this kind of stuff. People have so many ways to pay - I mean, some of us still even use cash - and with auto populate in browsers it seems less compelling…
Are you on USAePay? If not, you need to be
Love it. We’re looking at implementing it for sure.
Have you paid online with Apple Pay yet?
