Best way to indicate order location?

Here’s what I’m looking for: A reliable method for indicating the location of orders that have been placed and are being held for pickup. I’d like a method that:

  1. Will be useful to staff to make it obvious whether an order has not yet been set aside, or is in one of two designated locations
  2. Will show up in reports (namely sales reports of “not picked up” orders)

I have found flags useful for indicating location - but they don’t appear in reports. I was thinking maybe I could use “sales attributes” (which do show up in sales reports of orders not picked up) but as far as I can tell sales attributes do now show in POS. Any ideas?

Not necessarily the best solution, but you could create a new Order Type and make it the default for a specific POS profile.
