Hey gang. Looking for some insight on changing locations in a pickup order, i.e. from the generic “Onsite” to “Will Call”, “Warehouse” etc.
Obviously I can add these Pickup Locations, but:
If I am editing an order solely to change pickup location, is the customer going to see that on their card’s activity? When you click “Edit Order” you are warned “Any payments that have previously been applied have been refunded”
Is there a better way to indicate a specific place at the winery an order is stored? I’d love to have one location, but space is very limited and if you buy wine for pickup 9 months from now your wine is headed to the back of the warehouse. I’d like to keep the staff from having to hunt for your order.
When editing an order payment will be refunded, so the customer would see a refund, and then another charge when you go complete the order again. We generally advise against using the edit order function for this reason.
I’m not aware of any great way to signal which area the order is in besides another pickup location, but perhaps adding an order note would work?
I suppose that could work, but I don’t see that as a practical solution. Experimenting with Flags instead of Notes, that seems to be a little better. A few too many steps for a good flow either way, but flagging the order might do it.
For anybody who found thread useful, Order flags to indicate package locations (and no flag to indicate to grab it from general inventory) is working quite well so far.
