Getting prepaid club SKUs into a Department?

Is there any way to get prepaid club SKUs into a department? I have reports that are run for our bookeeper and various purposes that really need to be accurate for obvious reasons.

I typically run a SalesDetailX report and then create a Pivot Table to show tax, shipping, etc. by Department. Since the prepaid club SKU can’t be put into a department as far as I can tell, those are lumped into a blank department. I don’t really want to just assume that the blank department should just be added to my Club Memberships dept. in case I have stupidly forgotten to assign one of my products a department. Has happened before.

Anybody got anything?

@danjimerson this is interesting for sure. How’s the pre-pay working out for you?

What if you used a Welcome Package that included a real SKU instead? Without knowing more about how you’re managing this, I’m not sure how ridiculous of an idea that is.
