Product Drilldown goes to error.htm

Seems to me I’ve seen this before, but I can’t remember the cause. Any suggestions on where to look?

Here are a few things to check:

  1. You’re using the right URL. The syntax is a perfect match. You can test this by clicking the link in the product’s ‘general’ tab.
  2. The product is Active.
  3. The product is set to display on website.
  4. Nothing in “Manage properties” ‘advanced’ date fields prevents it from being active today.
  5. I think at one point it had to have at least one product category but that is not the case anymore for us.
  6. If you have multiple websites, make sure the website at which you’re trying to view it is set.
  7. You could look at marketing URLs section to make sure that somehow a marketing URL wasn’t set up that redirects it.

Check, check and check. I wasn’t aware of #4, so that’s a good one to know.
