Sales Detail or DetailX not filtering (the way we would like)

Hello gang.

We are having something of a small problem generating reports on various SKU’s

If we go to the Report --> Sales DetailX, put in the range 2/1/2016 to current date and use a shortened SKU we cannot get a sales report. For example, we have several items that begin with BTG (by the glass) and would like to filter on just the BTG so we can see all sales for the By the Glass. I’d rather not have to go and type in the full SKU’s (i.e.: BTG - $11, BTG - $12, etc…)

On the other hand, for example, we want to filter on BAR instead of it’s full title of BARPAT-E-001, or BARPAT-E-002, etc…

Does anyone have a handy workaround for this?

Thanks, Chris

I would agree this hugely useful. From day one I asked for wild cards in filters - so “BTG*” might give you all your BTGs - but the answer I got at the time was they wanted to keep filters simple.

My two workarounds:

  1. put your BTGs in a Department

  2. type out your list of full BTG SKUs in a text file, then save the file. Copy and paste your list from the file as needed. (Or use a keyboard macro expander program.)
