Weather holds and expedited shipping

Does anyone have a successful means of dealing with weather holds and expedited shipping?

If I am correct, the weather hold is attached to the state, so irregardless of the shipping type, a shipping hold is placed on the order. We do state in the weather advisory verbage that the weather hold does not apply to expedited shipping orders. However, customers don’t always read thoroughly and are often confused by this. Then, when the staff goes to ship orders, there is a future ship date attached to the order and not everyone has the time to open each order to check for an expedited shipping type.

I was hoping to offer special pricing on expedited shipping to my club members this summer (since no one wants to wait months for wine anymore), but am worried that this is going to cause a huge hassle and end up with confused and possibly unhappy club members is their wine doesn’t get shipped right away.

Has anyone come up with an efficient way around this?
