I have created a new club and I want to migrate the members from an existing club into this new one. I don’t want to delete the old club, since there will be a few members left who did not want to migrate. I also would prefer to keep the history of the old club, so I don’t just want to change the name of the old club to the new one. Just want to move the members from the old to the new.
I was planning on using the club member importer, but that requires the credit card number for each customer. These are all existing customers with existing, valid credit cards, so I just want to add the new club to their account and remove the old one.
If you rename Club Old to Club New, and re-create Club Old Legacy, you don’t lose the history. It’s much easier to move the few who want it back to Club Old Legacy than to move the bulk to Club New. (You might be surprised how few of those there will be. I did this a few years ago.)
Thanks for your suggestion - that’s the same conclusion we came to as well. We did lose a few club members who opted to cancel when informed of the migration, but that’s always a risk when changing clubs. You are correct - only a few who wanted to stay but insisted on staying in the old club. Think we’ll give them one shipment in the old club before forcing their hand.
