How do you upload club members if you have access to their credit card information because we only have “cookie” access to the card information?
I don’t have the club member’s credit card information because those are currently access through a PayJunction account. But with Vin65, we are told that we have to have a USepay account. We actually have one of those, too, but it is not set to remember credit card information rather to just use it for one time purchases.
From looking at posts in the forum, such as the “Club membership without credit card” from May of '16 post, it appears that one way to do it would be to give all the club members a fake credit card number. Then just run their cards when they come in for pickup. Of course we will have to email or call all that take shipment.
We will be emailing all of our club member to explain that we are changing software, so there might be a few glitches, but I don’t want them send any emails saying that their card has been denied or such.
Would this be the best way to do it? Or is there a better way.
Your method really depends on how many club members you need to import. I don’t know how a PayJunction account works so my two cents may be worth nothing.*
If it is clearly too much work to manually add a club membership to the contact of each person that you need to create a membership for, the Club Member Import is a great tool. You can consider doing the member upload with a fake card and then switching the card whenever they come in or you can get them on the phone.
I think this is going to be a rough process, so if I were you I’d send my members a heads up that emphasizes that it’s for their own security that you aren’t porting over their credit card data. Once you have created their club accounts it would be technically possible for your members to update their own cards online, some people find that more secure than speaking a card number over the phone. I hope everything goes smoothly.
*Interestingly, I see PayJunction addresses this on their site stating that they refuse all credit card export requests, but Vin65 will create a protected excel file for you (for a fee).
