Vin65 POS: We’re working to keep our POS stable

Providing you with high-quality, reliable POS tools is a top priority for our team.

More clients than ever are using our POS and we’re thrilled that so many of you are taking advantage of these tools.

However, we also know that some of you have recently experienced performance issues because of the increased use.

We understand that having a blazing fast point of sale system in your tasting room is critical and we want you to know we’re working around the clock to address these problems.

Here’s the game plan:

  • For your busy upcoming weekend, we have added improved server capacity to ensure the POS is stable.
  • In the next 30 to 90 days we are implementing additional solutions to ensure long term reliability and speed, including a better retry system that will retry an order if something goes wrong.
  • For any and all POS issues that may arise we now have a dedicated email – pos@vin65.com – which our team will be monitoring closely.
  • You can also reach the team directly by phone during support hours on our new dedicated POS phone number: 1-866-787-5110.
  • We have added additional support hours on Sundays from 9:30am-11:00pm PT (5:00am-3:30pm ACST on Monday) as well to help you with urgent issues.
  • We take the reliability of our system very seriously and we’re doing everything we can to make sure your business is online when you need it to be.

PS - For those of you who want to geek out with us, here’s the technical detail of the improvements we are implementing:

  • Optimizing customer search: when you search for a customer on the POS you will get the same results with less load on the servers.
  • Optimizing order listing: when you list your orders on the Order Manager it will render faster with less load on the servers.
  • Removing legacy pieces of code that will improve Internet functionality overall by preventing unnecessary server calls that slow down the system.
  • In the next 60 days we will also be implementing better caching around products, product images and coupons which will reduce server calls and wireless reliance, improving speed and performance.
