Just watched the webinar and I have a couple of questions
Product Sets
Will promos apply to these sets? Is is possible to limit promos to just these sets?
Limited Use promo
Love this idea, but we have never been able to do anything like this because we are limited by the coupon error text that appears on the cart when a code is invalid, expired, etc. Is this something we will have more control of down the road?
Hope you enjoyed the webinar and thanks for your question.
Promos are still applicable to product sets. It will not display the discounted pricing in the product set itself but once you hit Add to Cart, you should be able to add in a Promo Code or have your Club Discounts apply. The discounts will apply as normal, similar to if this customer were to manually pick the items in their cart one by one. Product Sets will not affect how the promo applies.
In regards to the Limited Use Promo, which error message are you referring to? You should have some control over some error messages through Resource Bundle. Here is how: http://recordit.co/6bhIhojtV4
I have just one product in the 3rd product category as we only have one corkscrew.
My customers will not be able to add this product as you have to scroll down select a product to populate the field and then reselect the product you want for it to work.
Hi @carisenr! I know this was from a while ago but I was exploring this option for making better promo sets for our customers. I couldn’t figure out how to make a promo that would apply specifically to the product set. Would we only be able to make a promo that applies to each individual item possibility or is there a better way? So they would get, say 30% off, if they buy the products as a set but the discount does not apply if the items are purchased separately. I hope this makes sense! Thanks!
Hi @JCJ - unfortunately, you aren’t able to add a Promo to the Product Set. You will need to create the Promos on the Products and when you do this, it will apply even when it is purchased separately.
Say you have a Product Set with 4 options. You can set the Promo with Quantity From: 4. This would restrict the Promo from being applied unless there are more than 4 bottles in the cart. It would sort of behave like what you are describing.
