Refund to a previously declined card

Hello,

Am I able to process a refund to a credit card that was declined most recently?
Example: their club order processed successfully and is ready for pick up. They don’t pick it up within the required time-frame. I try to process ship x for this order to have it shipped, but the transaction for the shipping charge is declined. I try to reach out but no response. If i wanted to refund their club order, will it process a successful refund even though the credit card used was most recently declined for the shipping charge?

In most cases, yes. When a card is compromised, updated or replaced, banks usually allow refunds to credit back. If the card account is closed, however, this is typically not possible.

That is what I though, thank you! It will let me know if it was successful or not, right? i guess i can test it…
