I am trying to do an event ticket refund for an online order and the card the guest used has now expired. I have the new expiry date but when I go to do the refund, there is no option to edit the card number or expiry date and the transaction won’t go through. I’ve searched and found that previously there have not really been any good solutions for this scenario. Is there really no good way of doing this through the original order so that the event tickets are inactivated and the customer can get a refund?
Usually when cards expire, they are still left open for refunds for a certain amount of time. You may have to contact your merchant processor for support here, as they can typically do it or show you how to do it through the gateway portal.
